Well, we made it safe and sound to Belize City, Belize! It's beautiful here - quintessentially tropical, with palm trees, tropical flowers, fruit stands with amazing fresh tropical fruit (our fav so far is the pineapple -yum) and humidity you can see!

We're staying at "D'Nest Inn" (www.dnestinn.com) - check out the adorable rooms and beautiful terrace overlooking a river. We're staying in the Paraket room. We are happy that it is safe, clean and especially that it has AC! (my question is how do people survive without AC?!)

We're excited that we have a car for the summer - it's a 1994 minivan (also has working AC :) and we feel like we fit into the Belize scene driving around in it. We'll post pics soon. We're contemplating the names "Charlie" and "Chrys" for the car. We'll have to see what his personality is in the next few days.

We ate dinner at a Lebonese restaurant. This place is an amazing melting pot of ethnicities and foods. There are many languages spoken here and it's fun to hear them.

We are excited to be here! We look forward to stopping by a beach tomorrow and getting going on the preparation for the volunteers arriving next week.
