Rough Road, Mon!

5 miles on a dirt road doesn’t sound that long, does it? But when you’re driving on it in Taxi Tim’s 1995 Corolla, it is looong! Even Tim admitted it wasn’t the best of dirt roads when he turned onto it: “Rough road, Mon!”

Here are three of our favorite little girls in Belize! We do lots of work in the village of Succotz and the work will continue right up to our last days in Belize.

More Square Foot Gardens

Remember the square foot garden plot just a few weeks ago? Well, HELP has been hard at work at Sacred Heart College (primary school through 2 years of college) and here are the results!

The dirt arrived and is ready to put into smaller piles.

Michelle points out to one of the students where the next hole should go. The students who will benefit from this were required to help our volunteers make the gardens.

Going to Guatemala

Swimming With Sharks!

Would you jump in the water with a ferocious bunch of sharks? We did!

These are nurse sharks and though they look as intimidating as other sharks, nurse sharks are non-aggressive towards humans and actually suck (not chop up) their food with a powerful suction mouth.

This is Kyle and me near San Pedro snorkeling with the sharks. Initially, I didn't want to jump into the middle of a school of sharks, but with a little encouragement I was soon up close and personal with them!

GNO Raw Fest!

Kiara, Karen, Keiko and I got together and made a raw food dinner. 

We had a lot of fun and felt great eating raw together!

Our raw-some feast! Some of the dishes include Karen's phenomenal fruit soup, sensational salsa and zucchini "pasta." Hmmm, delish!

Build Your Blog Conference 2015!

I decided to attend a blogging conference last weekend to learn how to improve my blog. The courses were fantastic, with knowledgeable and dynamic presenters and I met some wonderful people. I beginning to apply what I learned already. Join me as I do a makeover for my blog over the next few months!

             

I'm planning to attend the Build Your Blog Conference next year! I can't wait to measure the improvements to my blog from this year to next. Isn't it fun to change?!
