Happy Birthday!?!?!

Hi Baby Spencer!

As your dad usually introduces himself each time he talks to you through my belly, so I will say, only as your mama, "Hello little baby, this is your mother speaking!" We are oh, so very excited to greet you into this world! I have been having contractions for 12 days now. Some days are harder than others, but as my midwife tells us, they are all good because they are preparing my body for labor. She thinks that indicates I will have a short delivery because my body will just be ready for your arrival and out you will come!

Your daddy is in Arizona right now. It makes me a little nervous to have him gone so close to your due date and with the contractions and all, but he is only 3 hours away from the time he gets a phone call from me, so I'm not too worried. And Mom Spencer came up in his place and has been helping me make final preparations for you.

What have I loved most about pregancy? It is strange to think that it is over now, that the time has actually passed by. In the beginning it seemed like this day would never come, it was so far distant. It was late fall when we found out we were expecting you, and now it is late summer and we are still expecting you - wildly anticipating your delivery day.

I have changed so much during pregnancy, and I"m not just refering to how my body looks! I've been seeing a chiropractor since month 4 who has a wholelistic approach, mind and body connection called German New Medicine, and have found some incredible connections that have allowed my body to progress and heal to a new degree. The reference was given by my midwife because of a pelvic imbalance, but my whole life has been benefited because of you! I never would have started to go to Dr Rodgers had I not been pregnant. I am a different person than I was 9 months ago. I am much more sure of myself, much happier to be where I am at this time in my life, and I am a different parent, too, all in a good and positive way. It is impossible to describe all the subtle changes that have taken place over the past few months and how they have allowed me to be where I am now, so what I can say is that I am profoundly grateful to the Lord for leading me here. He promised me that my children would be the golden key to my future, and I catagorize this experience specifically as such. You truly have helped me unlock this part of my life and allowed me to walk through the door to greater physical ability.

So, things I've loved during pregnancy:

I've had less pain while exercising!
I love watching and feeling you move every day. I love to think about you and think how there is a sacred life growing inside me.
I love preparing for your arrival! It is wonderful to anticipate you as a sweet addition to our family!
I have loved thinking about what life as a family of 3 will be like
I have loved having a bump! (it's been so fun and not even uncomfortable until the past 1.5 weeks)
I have loved feeling the love and joy of so many people! Friends and family have expressed so much of this on your account! They are THRILLED to have you come into all our lives

Well, a contraction woke me up, yet again, but as it is 4 in the morning, I think I'll retire again to bed and see if I can sleep. I love you and can't wait to see you face to face!

Build Belize 2012

Here are a few pics of our Build Belize team 2012! We had a small but dedicated group and accomplished our goals for furthering our international development in Belize this summer. We hope you'll join us next year!
The Build Belize Team 2012 hangs out with the Jose Chan family is Succotz Village.

Here we are in the village of Succotz again! Our sign project from last year is still in good condition and the villagers continue to be grateful to have street names. Having street names has helped tourism to pick up in Succotz as tourists come into town before visiting Xunantunich. It's exciting to see projects we worked with the villagers on continue to benefit the village. 3 cheers for sustainable projects!

Little Juliana is a year older and as cute as when we last saw her! It's so great to visit our Belizian friends.

Love Living with Grandpa!

We have lived with Grandpa Ricks for 4 1/5 years now and we truly love the experience. We know his personality pretty well by now and as he ages and the Alzheimer's progresses, we sometimes chuckle at some of the quirks. Grandpa likes to have his shed locked at night and apparently the lock went missing. We found this twig in it's place one morning. Hee, hee...

Power Hour Climb

We love to rock climb! Sometimes we do what we call a "Power Hour" just to get out and get on the rock! We may not have an entire day or even an afternoon to dedicate to climbing, but it's important to us to do things we love, even when we're pressed for time. The solution is to get stuff we need to get done and then play hard, even for just a little time. It's so refreshing to do what you love!

Kyle scales the wall like a champ!

My mom and dad came with us for this little outing. I love that they are adventurous and love to spend time with us, too!

Snowy Day in March?!

We flew to SLC from a trip to AZ to find our car covered in 6 inches of snow!
It's a snowy March day in Utah!

Spring or Winter? You never know in Utah!

Puerto Rico

Ready to ride! We are getting all geared up to take the zipline through the Puerto Rican canopy!

Kyle, showing his zipping skills!

High atop one of the platforms.

Everything is bigger in the jungle! Can you tell the size of this centipede! Wow!

Sisters! We stopped at a little shop for souvenirs, a spectacular view and some refreshing coconut water, fresh from a chopped young coconut! My fav!!

Waterfalls!

We found several stunning waterfalls along our drive through the rainforest. This one was my favorite. The height was astounding and the angle was beautiful with many little riverlets of water running across the black stone. With the sun catching the water just right, it was lit up like shimmering diamonds.

I was excited to get so close to an iguana in the wild! I expected it to run off, but I just kept scooting closer and closer. Cute little green guy!

If pallet wood suites your palette, then head to Puerto Rico for some fantastic pallet-wood grilled BBQ! The BBQ joints all use pallet wood to cook over - crazy! I'll pass on the pallet wood, thank you!

We love this place!

Oh yeah! We got our use out of our annual US National Park's Pass in Puerto Rico!

This lawn was absolutely gorgeous! It was acres and acres of manicured lawn with grand,
old stone structures dotting the landscape.

My hot Baby!

Craft Store fun

This is the kind of thing that Kyle does for fun when we go to the craft store together. He cracks me up!!
